Dance Classes for Ages 3-6
Since 1994, beginners have been our specialty! At FVDM we have earned a reputation for our OUTSTANDING CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS and are Connecticut’s first and only licensed Leap N Learn certified studio!
Our teachers have over 16 hours of training and have taken several tests along the way to earn their certification. They are also observed and evaluated in an early childhood classroom, teaching children to ensure complete understanding and mastery of the Leap N Learn Curriculum. This outstanding program will enhance your dancer’s experience and will nurture the whole child.
WHAT’S SO GREAT ABOUT LEAP N LEARN?
Leap ‘N Learn is specifically designed to teach students to dance at their current level of mental, physical, emotional, and cognitive development. It gives children a strong foundation in dance while keeping the movement at the child’s level. This way the dancers are always having fun and mastering new skills, while using their imagination to build confidence along the way.
Capitalizing on the naturally occurring cognitive and neural development of children, this syllabus provides the tools and knowledge necessary for the creation of a successful learning environment. Through this program, students will acquire necessary motor, cognitive, and social skills beneficial for later life roles, including that of a growing dancer.
The program also helps children learn the basics of classroom behavior and manners, which include learning how to take turns, following another dancer or leading the way, waiting patiently, working together with others, and having a positive attitude. Concepts are explored throughout the year such as classroom etiquette, musical awareness, relationships to the working space and the stage, expressing emotion through movement, and pantomime.
How It Works
Regular Season (Sept-June)
Classes run from Sept-June with an on-stage performance wrapping up the season, unless otherwise indicated.
Tuition:
Our tuition is a YEARLY FEE that we divide into 10 equal installments. A $40 registration fee and 10% nonrefunable deposit is required upon registration.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and Amex.
- Yearly registration fee – $40 per student
- 45 & 50 minute classes – $89/mo
Recital Costume:
- $100 (plus tax), Paid by auto-draft on Nov. 15
Spring & Summer Sessions
Classes run in a session based upon the listed dates.
Tuition:
Tuition for the session and a $40 registration fee is payable in full upon registration.

Ages 3-4 by Dec 31
Our 45 min Leap n’ Learn creative movement/ beginner Ballet class for 3-4 year olds introduces baby ballerinas to the beginning steps of Ballet and encourages dancers to use their creativity and imagination through the use of fun props!

Ages 3-4 by Dec 31
This 45 min Tap/Acro combo class for 3-4 year olds is designed to enhance gross motor skills and musicality. Dancers will learn beginner Tap steps and primary Acrobatic tricks all in this super fun and creative class! High levels of energy and lots of jumping is a must!

Ages 5-6 by Dec 31
This 45 min Tap/Jazz combo class for 5-6 year olds is the next step in our early childhood curriculum. This high energy, super fun class introduces dancers to more complex rhythms of Tap, and the “fun”damentals of Jazz, while working on developing more coordination and balance in both styles of dance.

Ages 5-6 by Dec 31
This Ballet class for 5-6 year olds is the next step in our award winning Leap n’ Learn early childhood curriculum. Young ballerinas will learn new Ballet steps and continue to build strong technique all while continuing to use their creativity and explore different classical ballets.

Ages 5-6 by Dec 31
Bounce along to the beat in this 45 min Hip Hop class for 5-6 year olds. This class incorporates urban AGE APPROPRIATE movements performed to modern, upbeat, AGE APPROPRIATE music.
